Fallen Aces's second episode received't be out this 12 months, however it should function a first-person automobile chase with a tommy gun in each palms and a foot-operated steering wheel
If you have not performed Fallen Aces, I extremely advocate it whether or not you are a devoted immsim sicko or an FPS greenhorn. It is Dishonored by means of Dick Tracy: a direct and classy neo-noir FPS dripping with pulpy comedian artwork and a tantalizingly interactive goon sandbox. And that is simply the primary episode, which launched into early entry final 12 months.
Followers have been eagerly awaiting the second episode since then, however a improvement replace on Steam confirmed yesterday that it will not hit its outdated launch window of “earlier than the top of 2025.” That mentioned, it did share some thrilling particulars, in addition to a quick teaser.
The teaser exhibits off a factor of magnificence as hilarious as it’s genuinely cool: a first-person automobile chase the place the participant smokes a cigar, blasts foes with a tommy gun by every window, and maneuvers with one foot on the steering wheel and one other on the gasoline. If nothing else, it looks as if the second episode will lean in even tougher to the over-the-top comedian guide motion.
The remainder of the replace exhibits off some new areas, story comics, and teases Delia, a “totally controllable NPC companion” that responds to instructions like “transfer there,” “keep right here,” and “shoot that fuckin’ man!” It seems to be awfully formidable, and whereas I am a little bit upset I will not have the ability to see out the vacation season with a brand new goon-filled episode, not less than I’ve the Immersive Sip replace to tide me over with some new spritework.
It is turn out to be one thing of a sample for New Blood’s printed FPS to take pleasure in prolonged stays in early entry, with Gloomwood in that state since 2022 and Ultrakill since 2020. It makes the video games tougher to advocate when you wish to get by an entire recreation in a single go, however all three stand tall as a number of the greatest old-school shooters round, completed or not. Fallen Aces is shaping as much as be one in every of my favourite shooters in a really very long time, so this is hoping that the second episode is all it is cracked as much as be.
