Wait, there was a brand new live-action Witcher film? Starring Dolph Lundgren? On Netflix? In October?
I am not an enormous Witcher fan however I’m an enormous film and TV fan, so I attempt to maintain updated on all of the videogame-related movies and TV exhibits. A number of occasions every week, if not each single day, I scan the information, press releases, and leisure websites for any data about new game-related variations.
So how on earth did I miss that there was an entire new dwell motion Witcher film. On Netflix. Starring Dolph Lundgren. And it got here out in October of this yr. It wasn’t simply me: a bunch of us at PC Gamer, film followers and Witcher followers alike, missed it too.
It is known as The Rats: A Witcher Story, a feature-length particular that serves as a prequel to Season 4, and you may watch it proper now on Netflix—although judging from proof I am about to current, I am undecided Netflix actually needs you to.
Weirder nonetheless, I searched the official YouTube channel and there is not any trailer or perhaps a teaser for it. That strikes me as particularly weird: you produce and movie and edit a whole 1 hour 22 minute live-action Witcher film and do not even throw collectively a single 30-second teaser in your YouTube channel that has 32 million subscribers? I do know Dolph Lundgren is not precisely a Henry Cavill-sized draw, however he is—dare I say it—at the least a Liam Hemsworth-sized draw. If you happen to marketed Lundgren as a Witcher, you’d on the very least get some curious eyes on it. And even when it stinks, absolutely you need folks to look at it? Is not Netflix fairly openly eager on whole views above all different issues?
